Re-Elect Sheriff Chad Sheehan
Chad and his wife Anna (Prince) are both Sioux City natives and have five children ages 21, 18, 18, 14 and 11.
Chad was born and raised in Sioux City attending East High School. His parent's John & Janice (Joy) Sheehan were also born and raised in Sioux City. They have been married for 54 years and still reside in his childhood home. Chad's family roots run deep in Woodbury County and is proud to say he has family throughout the County.
Sheriff Sheehan has dedicated his life to public safety and keeping you and your family safe. He began his career in law enforcement in March 1994 before retiring from the Sioux City Police Department in 2016. Then in November 2020 Chad was elected the 34th Sheriff of Woodbury County.
Sheriff Sheehan has not been afraid to stand up for individual freedoms and liberties including standing up for property owners who's rights were being violated by the carbon pipeline companies, and the federal government attempting to force Covid vaccines on Sheriff's Office employees.
Sheriff Sheehan developed the S.A.V.E. Yourself program to train and EMPOWER people to survive the growing threat of an active killer. Since January 2014 S.A.V.E. Yourself has been taught to every school district in Woodbury County for FREE. Additionally S.A.V.E. Yourself has been taught to thousands of residents of Woodbury County at some of Siouxland's largest employers, organizations and houses of worship.
Sheriff Sheehan has worked with many of the rural fire departments on being prepared to respond to active killing threats.
He has volunteered as a member of the area Critical Incident Stress Management team and has volunteered in many of the rural communities of Woodbury County for over 15 years.
Chad is currently a board member for Boys and Girls Home, and previously volunteered for Make A Wish Foundation and Big Brothers & Big Sisters. Chad formed and ran Cops For Kids 2000-2004 to raise money for local organizations who support children. Through Chad's efforts over $40,000.00 was raised for Make A Wish, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Home and Siouxland Youth Hockey Association.
Sheriff Sheehan has volunteered as a youth sports coach in basketball, baseball hockey and football for 30+ years.
Sheriff Sheehan has proven he places high priority on public safety and preserving your rights and liberties as Woodbury County Sheriff.
Sheriff Sheehan needs your support and vote in the upcoming Republican Primary on June 4, 2024.
Sheriff Sheehan has proven to be a good steward of tax payer's dollars. During his tenure the Sheriff's Office has come in under budget each year.
Sheriff Sheehan successfully negotiated a new contract with the US Marshals for housing prisoners in the new jail at a higher daily rate and higher guard rate.
He also successfully negotiated a medical contract for the new jail that was $900,000 less than originally quoted.
Chad is a strong leader who believes in surrounding himself with great people and building partnerships with both private and public sector stake holders. Chad's ability to bring people together and motivate is unmatched in this campaign.
Chad will bring a modern, new perspective to the Sheriff's Office. He will focus on enhanced training and professionalism while also continuing to build on the concepts of community policing and community engagement. Through out Chad's career he has been involved in the community and will be out front leading these efforts.
